I was transfixed by Jennie Abrahamson and Linnea Olsson when they opened for Peter Gabriel on the 2013 leg of the Back To Front tour. My friend Wolfgang let me hear Jennie’s solo album. There’s a very special frisson when you audition a new artist and fall in love immediately. So many elements of other artists I admire formed a crystal, a perfect snowflake, around a nucleus of fresh and inventive orchestration – the aforementioned Gabriel, Kate Bush, The Sundays, Cocteau Twins, Radiohead; these all shimmer on the surface but like each snowflake Jennie has crafted something unique from base elements. Gemini Gemini continues to become more magical with each listen. Its official UK release is in the New Year.
